I walked to the end of Whiteford Point on a miserable March afternoon, with constant horizontal rain all the way. The forecast looked promising though and the first sunlight broke through just as I reached the bay at the north end of the point. After a mad scramble over the dunes to try and capture the golden light on the sand and marram grass, I decided to try and reach Whiteford Lighthouse at sunset.
