Strata Florida medieval tiles (AW251)

Taken in the afternoon in March 2011, at NGR SN7469665707. These medieval floor tiles are in one on the subsidiary chapels in the grounds of Strata Florida Abbey, a Cistercian abbey near Pontrhydfendigaid, Ceredigion. The abbey was originally founded in 1164. The name Strata Florida is a corruption of the Welsh Ystrad Fflur, meaning Valley of (the river of) Flowers.
