Taken soon after sunrise in November 2011 at NGR SS4692684613. The building was originally built in the early 16th century and was extended to become a saltworks later that century. Sea water was pumped from the large tanks at the front of the building to heated pans in the room above, where the water evaporated to leave the salt. The buildings were later used as cottages by quarrymen and oyster fishermen. Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF-S 17-85mm lens at 17mm, Manfrotto tripod. Exposure F11 at 1/125, 1/50 and 1/13 secs combined. Original image in Raw format.
