©Paul Edwards 2014

This photo was taken in the afternoon on 4th November 2014, looking up the valley at Cwmystwyth Lead Mine, at NGR SN8012274414. The stream in the bottom right corner is emanating from Gill's Lower Adit and flowing into the Afon Ystwyth just out of the picture. A larger discharge from Pugh's Adit is just behind where I was standing when taking this photo. Mining has been carried out for lead, zinc and silver in this valley since Roman times, with production reaching its peak in the 18th century. Canon EOS 600D, Canon EF-S 17-85mm lens at 17mm, hand-held. Exposure F11 at 1/200 sec. Original image in Raw format.
