Taken in the morning of 2nd November 2021, looking towards the "needles" from the beach at Pwlldu, at NGR: SS5743986959. The needles are the remains of a quay wall from which limestone from the local quarry and metal (lead and silver) ores from local mines were shipped. The large rock on which the cormorants are perched is known as the ring rock, which boats were moored to. The morning I took this photo followed a storm in which a seal pup was stranded on the shore, further up the beach, and was being guarded from passing dogs by some kind people who were waiting for the RSPCA to arrive and take it to safety. Canon EOS 7D, Canon EF-S 18-135mm lens at 98mm, Manfrotto tripod. Exposure F11 at 1/50 secs.
