Bantam Bay (AW129)

Taken just after sunrise in December 2008 at NGR SS5743186674. Bantam Bay is just around the coast from Pwlldu Bay, beyond "The Needles". The cliffs behind the beach are part of the old limestone quarry on Pwlldu Head, the fascinating history of which is described in "Pwlldu Remembered" by Heather Holt. Most of the limestone was shipped across the Bristol Channel to Devon, where it was burned in kilns to produce lime for agricultural purposes. Canon EOS 40D, Canon 10-22mm lens, Manfrotto tripod. Exposure F8 at 1/13 and 1/25 combined. Original image in Raw format.
